English Courses at Taunton School for Young Learners

At Taunton School we offer educational and exciting programmes for Young Learners which mix hard study with serious fun!
All teachers are qualified and hold a current certificate in teaching EFL, either Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL (or equivalent). The are also checked for criminal records with the CRB or an equivalent authority. Students can also opt for the Trinity GESE examinations (subject to minimum numbers).

Summer School English Course

Students at Taunton School attend 20 lessons of General English with a comprehensive activity programme, with special excursions bookable on-site. Located in this picturesque town in Somerset, students stay in a typical student house and enjoy the experience of living and studying in a traditional English boarding school setting. LAL Summer Schools has adopted a task-based syllabus, which has been designed in order to present new language in addition to consolidating learners' existing knowledge. The topics chosen for each project have been meticulously selected to ensure that learners are actively stimulated throughout the course, whilst having ample opportunities to utilise the language in both controlled and free practice sessions. Each lesson will focus on a communicative approach developing learners' productive and receptive skills. All course materials are provided, including an LAL coursebook.
