The LAL Durban Action Camp is situated on the 16-acre resort in Zinkwazi Beach, north of Durban, and has playing fields, a recreation hall, private lagoon access and idyllic beach in a safe setting. Action Camp opened its doors in July 2001 and over the past 7 years has become part of the lives of thousands of young South Africans.
Water safety is our speciality! We have our very own life guards – all trained and qualified by Life Saving South Africa – who keeps an eye on our campers when they are in the sea or our pool. Each camper has a compulsory swim test when arriving at Sugar Bay, which allows us to check their swimming strength. They are then given a colour-coded tee-shirt which helps identify our campers when they are on the beach, in the sea or in the lagoon.
ACTIVITIES
Beach Activities :Surfing, Kayaking, Body Boarding, Beach Art, Knee Boarding, Body Surfing, Beach games etc.
Land Activities :High ropes, Climbing wall, Tree swing, Paintball, Arts & Crafts, Skating, Waterpolo, Field games etc.
Land Team building:A series of problem solving initiatives that require teamwork and deal with leadership and group dynamics.
Beach Teambuilding:Similar to land teambuilding only it is done using different initiatives on the beach.
Adventure Activities:Musselling, Raft building, Snorkelling, Fishing, Dreamcatcher and Friendship bracelets.
