Sliema (or Tas-Sliema) is a coastal town located on the north eastern edge of Malta, only 5km north of Valletta by road. Meaning “peace, comfort”, it was once a fishing village. But now is a hotspot for tourism and shopping, and one of Malta’s main coastal resorts.Sliema is also a major commercial and residential area and houses several of Malta's most modern hotels.

IELS (Sliema) is located in the lively seaside resort of Sliema, just 3 miles from the capital Valletta. St. Julians, Malta’s nightlife area is only 15 minutes away along the promenade.

This modern centre is air-conditioned throughout and boasts bright well equipped classrooms, vending machines with snacks and drinks, a cafeteria, a bookshop, and an internet café with Wi-Fi access. There is also a self-access centre offering a selection of books and multi-media software free of charge
