Добро пожаловать в школу don Quijote - Salamanca
Salamanca, situated in the west of Spain on the border with Portugal, is large enough to offer the advantages of a bustling city, while at the same time maintaining the intimacy of a town. Salmantinos speak the “purest” Spanish in Spain, Castilian, and for this reason Salamanca is enormously popular with people from all over the world who want to learn the language. You don’t have to arrange to meet people as the city is fairly small and you are bound to bump into friends out and about in the Plaza Mayor. Salamanca is a real university city, there are Spanish students everywhere and plenty of places full of Spaniards! It is home to two grand cathedrals, spectacular Renaissance palaces, beautiful plazas and one of the oldest universities in Europe. There are plenty of opportunities to get in touch with nature too and discover the small, typically Spanish villages that are scattered about the region.
The school is located in the heart of the old city center, just 100 meters from the famous University and five minutes from the magnificent Plaza Mayor. The building is a beautifully restored 16th century monastery. You enter the school via a lovely courtyard, which, along with the gardens, divides the school into three parts; the offices, the cafeteria and the classrooms. The main building is spread across three floors and houses 19 classrooms, a recreation room (equipped with computers, DVDs, sound system etc.), a well stocked library, a staff lounge and three offices. Wireless internet access is available in the school and the cafe. The cafe in Salamanca is the perfect place to take a break between lessons and practise your Spanish outside the classroom. It serves a range of drinks and tasty, traditional tapas both inside and, in summer, outside on the terrace!
