English World courses are suitable for students who want to improve their all round skills and performance in English. Our lessons are lively and full of participation, helping you to make fast progress. You can study full-time (English World Intensive) or part-time (English World Semi-Intensive). Alternatively, you can complement the full-time programme with extra individual lessons (English World Combination). In all programmes, speaking, listening, reading and writing sessions are taught in three carefully structured units in the mornings. The afternoons in English World Intensive and English World Combination are devoted to developing particular language skills (e.g. listening and pronunciation, communication skills, grammar, vocabulary), or, as options, to preparing for exams (e.g. IELTS) or studying English for business purposes.

All schools have a maximum class size of 12, and average class sizes are even lower. Our class sizes mean teachers can give you the attention you need to make good progress. English World courses are suitable for all abilities from Beginner to Advanced. You can combine an English World course with a work experience placement. These courses are available at all our schools (in Bournemouth, Brighton, Cambridge, Edinburgh, London and Oxford).

This is an accelerated learning programme for ambitious learners including professionals. Class size is limited to 6 students per class, which ensures that you receive considerable attention from your teacher and can make fast progress. You can study full-time or combine the course with individual tuition.

22.5 hours of group classes per week (= 30 lessons of 45 minutes) We recommend this course for clients requiring fast progress. You work on improving your all-round English skills, and practising English language situations relevant to you. You work on linguistic areas such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and skills such as spoken and written communications, presentations, and cultural difference. In addition there are daily sessions which focus on business English.
-ClasSIX Combination
22.5 hours of group classes (=30 lessons of 45 minutes) + 7.5 hours 1:1 per week You can add 7.5 hours of individual tuition per week to your ClasSIX course. This is a very personalised course - you focus on your specific needs in the one-to-one lessons. This enables you to develop your areas of weakness or special interest.
-ClasSIX AM
15 hours of group classes per week (= 20 lessons of 45 minutes) This course is a part-time option of the ClasSIX Course. The programme of 15 hours per week gives students a half-day of intensive study and leaves a half-day available for self-study or free time.

Our Executive course is a tailor-made programme to meet your professional objectives. It helps you communicate successfully in meetings, negotiations and other business situations. You can complement the small group course with additional classes or individual tuition.
-Executive Group Programme
22.5 hours of group classes per week
There are six or fewer participants in each group to give each client a high level of trainer interaction. The courses focus on building business language and developing communication skills and strategies. The programme is designed to mirror international real-life business situations. The course is designed to help you communicate more confidently in meetings, negotiations and social situations. Using a variety of effective learning techniques you develop your abilities to liaise with customers and business partners in English. You also develop your awareness of cross-cultural issues, important for working with suppliers and partners of different nationalities. Mornings focus on business language required for meetings, negotiations and presentations. Afternoons focus on business vocabulary, discussion, current affairs and role play.
-Executive Group Plus
30 hours of group classes per week (= 40 lessons of 45 minutes) For a more intensive day this programme includes a further 7.5 hours of group classes each week.
This course is only available in London.
-Executive Combination
Combination courses are designed for clients wishing to gain the benefits of group and individual tuition. We offer 3 programmes:

We offer courses to prepare you for the IELTS English test as well as for the Cambridge exams: the First Certificate in English (FCE), the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE). In these courses you can enjoy a specially designed programme and gain great exam results.
- IELTS Exam Preparation
15 hours of general English language skills (= 15 lessons of 1 hour) + 10 hours of specific exam practice (= 10 lessons of 1 hour)
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System and it is designed for people who want to study in countries such as the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand. Regent exam preparation courses for the IELTS test help you become confident in handling all aspects of the exam. Your course consists of lessions that complement each other: core English language skills such as grammar, vocabulary; exam preparation in listening, reading, writing and speaking and exam practice, which allows you to overcome exam anxiety.
- Cambridge Exam Preparation
15 hours of general English language skills (= 20 lessons of 45 minutes)+ 7.5 hours of specific exam practice (= 10 lessons of 45 minutes)+ 3 hours of Active English per week
Cambridge certificates in English are awarded by a department of the world famous University of Cambridge and taken by over two million people each year. The certificates assess listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Preparing for a Cambridge certificate helps you to master the skills you need to use English in the real world as the exam are based on real life situations. The First Certificate in English (FCE) course is designed for intermediate students; the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) courses are for advanced students. Regent Cambridge exam preparation courses enable you to become confident in all the skills you need for the exam: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition, you improve your accuracy in grammar, your range of vocabulary, and the modes of expressing your thoughts and opinions. Finally, intensive exam practice helps you overcome exam anxiety.
-Academic Year / Academic Semester Intensive Programmes
25 hours of group classes (25 lessons of 1 hour)
The Academic Year (AYP) and Academic Semester (ASP) Intensive programmes are carefully designed to help you gain full confidence in communicating in English over a period of 6 or 9 months. Your programme is planned so you study effectively, improve your English and take at least one recognised examination (IELTS or Cambridge). There are 32 weeks of tuition on an AYP, and 24 weeks of tuition on an ASP. You may extend your course by adding four weeks of holiday on an AYP, and two weeks on an ASP. We offer a full time programme or a part time programme (AYP Semi-Intensive and ASP Semi-Intensive). You can combine AYP and ASP courses with unpaid Work Experience.

Take our individual courses to make the fastest possible progress. Individual programmes of 30, 25, 20 and 15 hours per week are available for clients wishing to maximise their time and efficiency.
Tailor-made for maximum progress One-to-one lessons offer students a programme which is designed precisely to their own unique requirements. In this way, you make the maximum possible progress because the teacher is able to focus on your needs and your personal learning style in every lesson. Throughout the day, you can supplement your lessons with self-study in our quiet areas or Study Centres. This helps to consolidate the work done during lessons. Teachers set self-study exercises and give direction and guidance for students to make the most of their consolidation time between lessons.
English for Specific Purposes
Individual tuition programmes are ideal for those who need to improve their English language skills for specific purposes. These programmes are available at our schools in London and Oxford where we offer English for finance, IT, pharmaceuticals, aviation, EU integration, the legal profession and the oil and gas industry. Teachers are chosen for their experience in or background knowledge of the subject areas.

This is an intensive two week course of 15 hours or 25 hours per week. It includes an update on current English Language Teaching pedagogy in the UK and a review of current materials and examinations. Our staff are all DELTA qualified teachers and have been teaching English for an average of 10 years. Participants with full attendance receive a Regent Certificate and a progress report. Mornings are usually to sessions on English language teaching methodologies and practices, for example teaching writing skills, using video, dictation in the classroom, error correction, teaching literature. The exact course content is based on the pre-course evaluations and finalised in a group discussion on the first day. In the afternoon, non-native speakers of English will normally join a refresher programme to improve their language skills (at their level). They can choose from the following options: authentic English, literature, grammar workshop or communication skills.
